Clean Energy vs. Fossil Fuel

Did you know that investments into clean energy are expected to further outpace fossil fuel investment by a record amount in 2023? In the chart below, we spotlight how clean energy investment has been noticeably outpacing that of fossil fuels since 2019 and is anticipated to reach a new high of $1.7tn in 2023– 1.7X the amount spent on fossil fuels. According to the International Energy Agency, over 70% of this capital will need to come from private investors which presents a growing opportunity for private markets investors to play an ever more important role in the energy transition.
